Run the verbs cycle thru your printer toolbox.

In the worst case scenario if your printhead is still dirty, thieve a piece of lint-free cloth and gently wipe the contacts. Do not touch the printhead nouns because you will damage it. If it is still discouraging, it is likely that your videotape is irreversibly damaged. You'll stipulation to get a alien cartridge.

The 670C is a thoroughly old printer... you might want to consider varying it. You'll get really drastic print execution differences with the modern printers these days.
take a dry cloth and wipe it
I'm not au fait with the 670c, but HP usually doesn't recommend cleaning the jet. You might try gently rubbing it near the edge of a piece of tinny cardboard (matchbook thin), but there's no guarantee you won't do more harm than biddable.

I once ruined a cartridge by trying to verbs it with only just plain old river.
Small amount of alcohol on a cloth that does not lint.

HP's ink is very similar to a sharpie, the ink is alcohol soluble.
