How do I transmute my printer from printing surrounded by black and white to color?

I enjoy a lexmark 840 printer and I have be trying change my printer option by changing how my printer prints. I want it to print within color instead in black and white and I couldn't find where on earth on my computer where I can do that. I penny-pinching I went to where on earth it said printers and other hardware but I wasn't successful on how to change the printer to print contained by color.

When you cue a database or page to print and the print window come up. Look for the "preferences" button and click on it.

That should stretch out another window and you should own a choice of "black" or "color". Select "color".

Leave it in this setting. If you print a note, or a letter, it will print surrounded by "black & white" automatically.
